Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange
The MICEX Stock Exchange is a part of the MICEX Group and leading stock exchange in Russia. It provides trades in stocks and bonds of 760 issuers, including such “blue chips” as Gazprom, RAO UES, Lukoil, Norilsk Niñkel, Sberbank, VTB, Rostelecom, Surgutneftegaz, MTS, Tatneft, and others. In 2007 the total value of transactions on the MICEX Group was USD 4,2 billions, the total value of stock transactions – USD 1,2 billion. It is 99% of the total value of transactions on the Russian stock market. The MICEX Index, Russia’s main stock market indicator, increase by 11,5% in 2007.
Luxembourg Stock Exchange
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange was created in 1928. Since it was launched, it has developed a specific know-how in the listing of and trading in securities from a wide range of regions. The Luxembourg Stock Exchange is a major listing centre of international bonds, equities and investment funds and currently lists 47,000 securities, among which 75% are international bonds. The Luxembourg Stock Exchange also lists 220 Global Depositary Receipts from issuers based in emerging or rapidly developing markets, such as India. In May 2007 it set up a partnership with NYSE Euronext to promote listing of and trading in international corporate bonds.
